Our Whirlpool disposer started leaking after 12 years of service. This is pretty much within the average use life for this unit and those of most other brands. I ordered a direct replacement to simplify the installation and everything works as it should. No leaks and as quiet as rhe unit before it.

Works really well in its basic functionality. A little noisy, but that's not a major issue. One feature it lacks that I had in my last unit (an Insinkerator brand unit), is that you can't pull the sink-side rubber piece out easily to reach in and remove something that went in unintentionally, like a utensil, or just clean it (and trust me, they can get pretty disgusting). But it does the basic job of disposing of food waste.

I have never replaced a garbage disposal before so when mine suddenly started leaking I was super stressed. I found this disposal online at a local appliance shop for a great price, it was super easy to install, felt/looked like a quality product and works like a charm. It also has a 1 year warranty!

This was the second in-sink garbage disposal unit we had. Works like a champ! The first one lasted 10-years, with it really getting a workout. When it finally started getting too loud, we knew we would buy the same unit again. Easy 15 minute change out, and we're up running!

When the old disposal went kaput suddenly, I had to get it fixed or replaced. It was cheaper to replace it. I am very happy that I did. The new Whirlpool is much quieter than the old disposal. It seems to work a bit faster as well.

I had to replace this after less than two years due to a burned out motor. Never used it for anything more than light food scraps - as in what was rinsed off dirty dishes - even though you are supposed to be able to grind chicken bones(!?!). Very disappointed in this product.

Bought this disposer hoping it was an easy drop-in replacement. Was able to install by myself in about 90 minutes including removal of old disposer. Only negative was that it took about 3 weeks to receive due to shortages.

Love K. A. appliances but this sink disposal was rusting from day 1. We will be asking for replacement (7 months old). Starting to have clunking noise as well (we resist allowing food down our drain).

My last disposal began leaking from the bottom. I checked online and found that it was probably a broken seal inside. I decided to replace the unit instead of trying to fix it. I checked the model on the old one and bought the exact same model.
The removal of the old one, and installation of the new one only took a few minutes. I was able to leave the sink collar because it was an exact match.
The only part of the installation that took a while was I needed to uninstall the electrical cord from the old unit and install it on the new one.
I feel it would be better to have the electric cord installed at the Factory but, I understand why it's not. Not everyone has an outlet under the sink and have just the rough cable to hard wire it.
